50 Penn is a mixed-income, transit-oriented community in the Cypress Hills neighborhood of Brooklyn. The recently constructed nine-story multifamily building contains 218 residences, including 56 studios, 97 one-bedrooms, 46 two-bedrooms, and 18 three-bedrooms. Residents have access to on-site laundry facilities, an inviting community room, and a private terrace on the second floor. The sustainable community includes green roofs, rooftop photovoltaic panels, and a highly-insulated exterior wall system for energy efficiency. Landscaped outdoor spaces support the health and well-being of the residents. In addition to its residential lobby, the ground floor of 50 Penn contains three commercial spaces, including a Fine Fare Supermarket.

The apartments are available at a variety of income levels, from formerly homeless and extremely-low income to moderate-income. 42 of the apartments are dedicated to formerly homeless and elderly households and nearly 50% of all units are permanently affordable.

50 Penn is situated on a prominent corner along Pennsylvania Avenue, and sits adjacent to the elevated J/Z Subway (to the north of the site) and the below-grade A/C Subway. Cypress Hills is home to a variety of valued cultural institutions, community-based organizations, and thriving commercial zones.
