Better Look: Perry Homes
Penrose NY’s redevelopment plans for the Commodore Perry Homes complex are advancing. After receiving approvals for variances from the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Planning Board will review the project on Monday. The Board packet includes new color renderings of the three midrise buildings planned, two on South Park Avenue and the third on Louisiana at Perry Street, and the townhouses to be built on the remaining blocks.
The existing 18.8-acre complex consisting of 35 buildings and 284 units will be demolished and replaced with 405 residential units and 8,000 sq.ft. of commercial space. The three five-story midrise buildings will consist of 112 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Three commercial spaces ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 sq.ft. will be available in the buildings along South Park Avenue.
There will be 24 townhouse and stacked flat apartment buildings. Wallace Roberts & Todd, LLC designed the $200 million project.
