In May 2024, Governor Hochul joined Pennrose, Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority, and other members of the development team in celebrating the start of construction on the redevelopment of the Commodore Perry Homes in Buffalo's First Ward neighborhood. The new development will provide 405 affordable homes in 27 newly constructed buildings.
