One Thompson Avenue is a 70 unit, veterans preference, family development located on Prospect Street in Dover, Morris County. The development is a 100% affordable, located in a single low-rise, wood-frame building. The building is comprised of 10 one-bedroom units, 43 two-bedroom units, and 17 three-bedroom units. 100% of the units are affordable to residents with household incomes at or below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI), with one unit set aside for an on-site superintendent. The development is designed for family occupancy but contains a preference in twenty-five percent (25%) of the units for veterans.
The parcel had a deed restriction from New Jersey Transit, which needed to be removed in order to start construction. This parcel was part of Dover’s downtown redevelopment master plan, and this project contributed to the execution of this plan by transforming this underused space into affordable housing for families and veterans. The design mirrors the existing architecture of downtown Dover
