Wynne Senior Residences will be a 51 unit affordable apartment building for seniors 62+. With tremendous support from neighborhood groups and the City of Philadelphia, Pennrose and its joint venture partner Wynnefield Overbrook Revitalization Corporation (WORC) are redeveloping the once popular Wynne Theater site into a brand new senior community that will provide much needed affordable housing for the local senior population and a variety of amenities for the neighborhood as a whole.
The existing vacant building on the site has been demolished and a new facility is under construction, designed to replicate much of the architectural heritage of the previously iconic Wynne Theater. The building was historically used as a ballroom, cinema, and later a catering facility.
The 51 unit senior residences will be comprised of 46 one bedroom units and five (5) two bedroom units. Wynne Senior Residences will feature a large community room with a kitchenette, lounge, laundry facilities, wellness center, computer lounge, and retail space.
