Herndon Square II - Coming Soon!

Herndon Square II will be a 201-unit family, mixed-income rental community in the heart of downtown Atlanta. The development will be comprised of one-, two- and three-bedroom units, providing quality housing for residents across all income levels. 170 of the apartments will carry income restrictions (ranging from 30% to 80% AMI), with a number of units requiring Project-Based Vouchers through Atlanta Housing’s HomeFlex program.

Community amenities will include an interior courtyard and green space, enclosed parking deck, wellness clinic, fitness center, computer business and learning center, and outdoor covered picnic area. Herndon Square II is slated for completion Spring 2026. 

Herndon Square II is the second phase of Herndon Square, the master-planned, mixed-income redevelopment of the former Herndon Homes public housing community. The Herndon Square multi-phase development plan envisions a transformational and high impact strategy for furthering access to quality affordable housing while creating a vibrant, healthy and sustainable mixed-use and mixed-income community. Herndon Square II involves a joint venture between the Atlanta Housing Authority, Hunt Companies and Oakwood Development Group, with Pennrose serving as the Development Project Manager and Property Manager.
